About Our Client: Boqueria Wine and Tapas Bar Cork
Located in the heart of Cork's theatre and shopping district, this welcoming place caused quite a stir when it first opened, and is now an established part of the Cork dining scene.
A long, narrow premises with upholstered bar stools and comfortable seating at tables towards the back, the character of the original bar was retained, and improved with a new black marble topped bar. The menu offers a mixture of genuine Spanish tapas dishes along with some Irish variations. Some of these little dishes are cold plates such as charcuterie or smoked fish, dependent on well-sourced artisan/organic products, whilst others are freshly cooked and served hot. Many of the familiars are here - tortilla espanola, patatas bravas, plus lots of interesting hybrids too.
There's a full licence, and a list of about 40 Spanish and French served by the glass, carafe and bottle. Wine tastings are available for groups, and have proved very popular. - Georgina Campbell, Guide to Ireland.
